Full Service Check List
Change engine oil and replace oil filter

    

Replace air filter

    

Replace spark plugs

    

Replace pollen filter where necessary

    

Replace fuel filter, diesel and petrol (not fuel injection) 

    

Check distributor cap / rotor arm / condenser

    

Check gearbox oil level

    

Check number plates

    

Check function of front and rear lighting, hazard warning lights, fog lamps and horn

    

Check function of windscreen wiper / washer, top up with fluid as necessary.  Check wiper rubbers

    

Check battery level and top up with distilled water if necessary

    

Check engine visually for oil leaks

    

Check strength of anti-freeze in cooling system.  Top up mixture if necessary

    

Check timing belt for condition and tension (if accessible)

    

Check v-belt tension and adjust as necessary

    

Grease door mechanisms

    

Check condition of seat belts

    

Check steering for play and check boots for leaks or damage

    

Check brake system visually for leaks or damage to brake pipes

    

Check exhaust system for leaks or damage

    

Check track rod ends for excessive clearance and check condition of boots

    

Check for leaks around transmission, final drive and drive shaft joints.  Check boots for damage.

    

Check condition of front and rear suspension

    

Check condition of power steering (if applicable)

    

Check thickness of brake pad and brake shoe linings.  Check and if necessary correct brake fluid level.  Check brake fluid viscosity.

    

Check tyre tread depth, tread pattern and tyre pressures

    

Check and if necessary top up fluid level of automatic transmissions

    

Check and if necessary adjust idle speed, CO content and ignition timing

    

Road test vehicle and check general performance of hand brake, foot brake, steering and suspension

    

Reset service interval indicator
